After about five months,Chris Armas has found a new club. The 49-year-old American will be Ralf Rangnick‘s new assistant coach at Manchester United, the club confirmed on Tuesday.

“Chris used to be the assistant coach at the New York Red Bulls under Jesse Marsch,” Rangnick said at a press conference. That was five years ago, when I first met him. “Since then we have met quite frequently. Also in my role as head of global for Red Bull in the last three-and-a-half years he was head coach for the New York Red Bulls and for Toronto in the MLS.”

Armas was most recently coach of Toronto FC. Amas only lasted six months at Toronto FC and was released after 15 games and a points average of 0.6. In addition to Armas, Sascha Lense joins Rangnick’s staff. Lense worked as a sports psychologist for Schalke 04 and is now expected to take on the same role at Manchester.
