1001 players updated
With the season almost concluded, Transfermarkt has updated the market values of 1001 players in the USL Championship and USL League One. The update sees a new historic low for former Schalke and Leicester City star Christian Fuchs (Charlotte Independence). On the other end of the spectrum are young stars Ronaldo Damus (Orange County) and José Gallegos (San Antonio FC). Both have seen their market values improve.
USL – All new market values at a glance
Left-back Fuchs will be one of the major faces of Major League Soccer expansion side Charlotte FC next season. To prepare for the 2022 MLS season, Fuchs joined USL Championship side Charlotte Independence. There the 78-times Austrian national team player has scored two goals in 17 games across all competitions. Now 35, Fuchs sees his market value drop from $880,000 to $660,000, his lowest market value since 2005 when he still played for SV Mattersburg.
Another player with a Schalke past to have seen his market value updated is Orange County SC goalkeeper Patrick Rakovsky. “It is a good competition,” Rakovsky said in an exclusive interview with Transfermarkt earlier this week. The 28-year-old sees his first market value increase since 2018, when he still played for Lierse SK. Rakovsky goes to $385,000 and remains the second most valuable keeper in the league behind Atlanta United 2 prospect Rocco Ríos Novo. Ríos Novo sees his market value improve to $825,000 and remains the most valuable player in the league.

Damus into the top 10 – Bayern target Gallegos up by 33.3%
Among the winners is also Rakovsky’s teammate Ronaldo Damus. The 22-year-old Haitian striker has impressed all season and has scored 16 goals and three assists in 33 games across all competitions. “Damus is a player, who could easily play in a better competition,” Rakovsky said to Transfermarkt last week. The forward sees his market value improve from $385,000 to $495,000.
Another young player who could play in a higher league is San Antonio talent Gallegos. The 20-year-old spent some time away from the club to train with Bayern Munich and FC Barcelona in the spring. The 20-year-old attacking midfielder scored seven goals and five assists in 32 games across all competitions this season. Gallegos sees his market value improve by 33% from $330,000 to now $440,000
The final player to keep an eye on is Jonathan Gómez. The Louisville City right-back will join Real Sociedad at the end of the season. One of the most exciting prospects in US soccer, the 18-year-old left-back sees his market value double from $165,000 to $330,000.
