After defeat to Jamaica
After defeat to Jamaica in Concacaf World Cup qualifying, Honduras have terminated the contract of 54-year-old national team coach Fabián Coito by mutual consent. Honduras football federation FENAFUTH made the announcement on Thursday.
On Wednesday, Honduras suffered their first World Cup qualifying home defeat to Jamaica. The Reggae Boyz, who were without several key players, managed a historical 2-0 away victory. With six of 14 games played, Honduras are now last in the Octagonal with just three points. Mexico are first with 14 points, followed by the United States and Canada. The first three teams qualify directly, the fourth-placed team will qualify for the inter-confederation play-offs.
