Issiar Dramé joins New York Red Bulls – “Helpful to add depth to defense”

Until end of the season

Major League Soccer side New York Red Bulls have signed French defender Issiar Dramé until the end of the season with an option for one additional year. Dramé joins as a free agent after his contract at the Ukrainian side Olimpik Donetsk expired in the summer.

“We are pleased to add Dramé to our roster,” RBNY head of sports Kevin Thelwell said in a club statement. “We hope he can add the necessary depth to our backline.” Added New York Red Bulls head coach Gerhard Struber: “Dramé is a talent and we are happy to add him. It is always helpful to add more depth to our defense.”

Dramé is a product of the Olympique Lyon youth academy but never made a senior appearance for the club. Instead, the 22-year-old joined then Ukrainian Premier Liga side Olimpik Donetsk where he managed 19 appearances (no goals) last season. Dramé became a free agent after his club was relegated to Ukraine’s Persha Liga
