Market values from €900k to €80m
The chance that the Golden Boy award is headed to the Bundesliga for the second time in a row remains high. On Thursday, Tuttosport, which has handed out the award since 2003, have shortened the list for Erling Haaland‘s potential successor. Even though Youssoufa Moukoko, Reinier, and Tanguy Nianzou have been cut, the Bundesliga has more players than any other league in the top 40.

With Ilaix Moriba, Josko Gvardiol and Brian Brobbey, RB Leipzig have the second youngest team with the most talents. Borussia Dortmund (Jude Bellingham, Giovanni Reyna) and Bayer Leverkusen (Florian Wirtz, Odilon Kossounou) have two players each, Bayern Munich are represented by Jamal Musiala. Neither Ligue 1 (seven talents), the Premier League (6), LaLiga (5) nor Serie A (3) have as many talents as the Bundesliga among the last 40 Golden Boy nominees.
In terms of market value, the nominated players rank between world-class and €900,000. While Barcelona’s Pedri has played a full season and the European Championship and has a market value of €80 million—one of the 20 most valuable players worldwide—nominated Mykhaylo Mudryk has managed just 11 games for Shakhtar Donetsk and has a market value of just below one million euros.
