Last night it looked like Cristiano Ronaldo was going to return to Manchester. But he will not play in sky blue but rather in Red Devils red. Several media reported that the Citizens were in advanced talks with Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes to complete a deal. But Man City were unwilling to pay the €30 million Juventus wanted for the striker. Instead, Cristiano Ronaldo will return to this former club Manchester United

Manchester United confirmed on Friday that they had reached a deal with Juventus that will see Ronaldo return to Old Trafford. According to a report by The AthleticMan United will pay €15 million initially, plus €8 million in bonuses. The Guardian, in the meantime, believes that the Red Devils have offered €25 million, plus bonuses.

The transfer is subject to Ronaldo agreeing on personal terms, completing his medical, and receiving a visa to play in the United Kingdom. “Everyone at the club looks forward to welcoming Cristiano back to Manchester,” the statement on United’s homepage read. Cristiano Ronaldo first joined Manchester United in 2003 for €19 million from Sporting CP. The now 36-year-old then scored 118 goals in 292 games for the Red Devils before leaving Manchester for Real Madrid for a then world-record €94 million.
