Canadian national team star Junior Hoilett has found a new club. The former Cardiff City winger has joined Championship side Reading FC. His contract with the Royals will run for one season. Hoilett was a major part of Canada’s Gold Cup team this summer scoring two goals and two assists in five games, helping his nation to reach the semifinal of the tournament.
“Junior is a player with proven pedigree at the highest level, having competed in the Premier League with three different clubs,” manager Veljko Paunovic said in a club statement. “An experienced international, Junior will play an important role in helping our young players integrate within the first-team squad and improve as professional players. On the pitch, his intelligence and maturity in the final third will make him an excellent addition to the squad we are looking to strengthen.”
