After deadline day

Almost a week after deadline day has passed, some Major League Soccer teams are still announcing transfers concluded on August 5. One of those clubs were the Philadelphia Union, who on Wednesday announced the signing of Brazilian forward Matheus Davó. Davó joins the club immediately on loan from Brazilian side Corinthians. The Union will have an option to make the transfer permanent at the end of the season.

“We’re excited to welcome Matheus to the Philadelphia Union and add a versatile young attacker to our roster,” said Union sporting director Ernst Tanner in a club statement. “We have looked for a technically advanced striker like Matheus who can play underneath his partner and link defense to attack. We look forward to getting him quickly integrated into our system.”
