Josh Sargent to complete transfer to Norwich – Not in Werder’s DFB Pokal squad

Werder Bremen are on the verge of selling Josh Sargent. After being relegated and struggling to complete transfer targets, Werder are now close to receive a significant fee for their most valuable striker in the squad (market value: €8m). The striker has asked not to be included in the DFB Pokal squad, Bremen face VfL Osnabrück in the first round. The striker is headed to Norwich City

“We are on the verge of agreeing to a transfer with a foreign club,” CEO Frank Baumann said on Friday. “Because of that, Josh doesn’t believe that he is able to play on Saturday. As a result, we have given him time off from training.

Werder did not confirm Sargent’s new club. But Transfermarkt understands that the US men’s national team striker is about to join Premier League side Norwich City.
