Danny Ings has joined Aston Villa. The Villa made the transfer of the Southampton striker official on Wednesday. The deal came out of nowhere and was completed on the eve of Villa losing Jack Grealish to Manchester CityThe Athletic writer Gregg Evans reported that Southampton will receive £30 million for the forward with 20% of the fee going to his former club Liverpool

The England national team striker scored 14 goals last term for both club and country. Ings becomes the club’s fourth signing after Leon Bailey, Emiliano Buendía, and Ashley Young at Villa Park. The 29-year-old has signed a three-year contract at the Birmingham-based club (to all summer signings).
