Los Angeles FC have signed Colombian striker Cristian Arango from Colombian club Millonarios FC. The Major League Soccer club confirmed the transfer on Monday. According to the well-informed Los Angeles Times, LAFC will pay $2.5 million for the forward, which makes Arango the sixth most expensive signing in club history. Contract details were not made public but Arango’s salary will exceed the maximum budget charge of $612,500.
“Cristian is an accomplished striker and an important acquisition for us at this stage of the season,” LAFC Co-President & General Manager John Thorrington said in a club statement. “We believe that he will be a great fit and, given his age and experience, will help us now and into the future.”
