Return perfect

Lukas Nmecha’s return to VfL Wolfsburg is complete. The U21 European Championship winner celebrated a breakthrough season with RSC Anderlecht where he was involved in 24 goals in 41 games. The striker is signed on a permanent deal from Manchester City and receives a contract until 2025. According to Bildthe fee is €8 million.

“We have always been convinced of Lukas’ qualities and followed his path closely after he left Wolfsburg,” VfL sporting director Marcel Schäfer said in a club statement. “He managed to make the next step in his career playing for Anderlecht. Playing for the U21 national, he showed his importance for the team both on and off the field, and aged just 22; he is already willing to take over a leadership role by leading with example. We are delighted to have signed one of the most promising forwards in German football.”

Nmecha: Market value improved by €8.4 million at Anderlecht

Nmecha already played for Wolfsburg in 2019. During his half-year loan, he managed 12 appearances, mostly from the bench. He did not score.
