BVB agree personal terms with Malen – Clubs €5m apart in negotiations

Chance of transfer high

Donyell Malen will leave PSV Eindhoven this summer. Head coach Roger Schmidt confirmed a transfer a few weeks ago. The striker is under contract until 2024. The likeliest destination is Borussia Dortmund where Malen is slated to replace Jadon Sancho. According to a report by Sport Bild that transfer is now imminent.

The magazine reported on Wednesday that the Black and Yellows have already agreed personal terms with the Dutch national team player. Malen will sign a long-term contract in Dortmund once the two clubs have agreed on a fee. BVB have offered €27 million, which was deemed to low considering his market value of €30 million and 37 goal involvements in 45 games for PSV. A deal in that region now seems likely.

PSV have demanded around €30 million, Dortmund have offered €25 million previously. Despite the discrepancy between the two sides, a deal now seems imminent.

De Jong on BVB target Malen: “Have not yet received an official offer”

PSV technical director John de Jong has confirmed to Voetbal International that Malen, together with Denzel Dumfries, is currently on a leave of absence to negotiate with other clubs. “Mino Raiola, who is their agent, is keeping us up-to-date,” de Jong said. “They know what we want and we have given the players the freedom to talk to other clubs. Should they find an agreement then those clubs will have to approach us. We have not received an official offer but that can change quickly.”
