Valencia have loaned another Spanish top talent after Ilaix Moriba (from RB Leipzig). Bryan Gil joins the Blanquinegros from Tottenham until the end of the season – without an option to buy. For Spurs, who first confirmed the transfer of the 20-year-old winger, it is already the fourth transfer on Deadline Day after the additions of former Juventus players Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski and the departure of Tanguy Ndombélé (on loan to Lyon).

With a market value of €28 million, Gil is so far the third most valuable player transferred on the last day of the window behind Kulusevski and Ndombélé. The Londoners, where the Spain international is still under contract until 2026, had only signed him from Sevilla for around €25 million in the summer (Erik Lamela went the other way).
Under head coach Antonio Conte, the left winger has so far failed to establish himself in Tottenham’s first eleven. Gil has made just eight short appearances in the Premier League and faces stiff competition from Steven Bergwijn and Heung-min Son, among others, in his starting position. In the previous season, the Sevillistas’ homegrown talent played 28 matches in Spain’s top flight during his loan from Sevilla to Eibar (4 goals, 3 assists), where he was a regular under José Luis Mendilibar.

In North London, however, things have not been going well so far. The winger, who can be used versatilely on the flanks, is said to lack robustness, among other things. “It is different to the football I have played in Spain, it is a quicker pace and more attack and defence.
