Multiple reports

Raheem Sterling is on the verge of leaving Manchester City. Sky Sports reported on Wednesday that the winger has reached a personal agreement with Chelsea—only financial details with Man City remain outstanding, which are not supposed to be an obstacle. Manager Pep Guardiola emphasized that he will not keep players who are not fully committed as long as the price is right. A deal could be reached within the next 24 hours.

The Premier League champions expect a transfer fee of around €53 million for Sterling. A significant fee for a player with just one year left on his contract but not an unusual amount for players moving from one top-six club to another. England’s national team player joined Man City for €64 million from Liverpool in the summer of 2015 and has won 12 national titles, including four championships.

By selling Sterling, Man City will be able to turn a transfer profit this summer. Erling Haaland (from Dortmund) and Kalvin Phillips (Leeds) were signed for €109 million. Gabriel Jesus (Arsenal), Pedro Porro (Sporting), Ko Itakura (Gladbach), and Roméo Lavia (Southampton) were all sold for significant transfer fees. As a result, City are expected to further add to their already impressive squad.
