Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was forced to play peacemaker as the feuding pair tried to confront each other.

When asked by talkSPORT to explain what happened, Guardiola said: “Nothing.”

The Spaniard then walked out on the interview before any further questions could be asked.

Meanwhile, Liverpool manager Klopp joked about his role as peacemaker and emphasised nothing dramatic occurred.

The Reds boss told talkSPORT: “That’s the story of the World, huh? A person who doesn’t understand a word trying to calm down two people.

“It’s fine, it’s just emotions, nothing else. Because love them both, I was probably the perfect person to do that.

“But nothing spectacular. Emotions.”

Haaland became the fastest-ever Premier League player to reach 50 goals as City capitalised on a mistake from Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson in the 27th minute.

The Reds absorbed long spells of City dominance to equalise in the 80th minute through a stunning Alexander-Arnold strike.
