Erling Haaland was at loggerheads with the referee and Tottenham’s Giovani Lo Celso at the pulsating 3-3 draw at the Etihad Stadium.

A late goal by Dejan Kulusevski consigned Manchester City to a third successive Premier League draw, however, the champions were denied a late winner when they were prevented from winning it at the death by referee Simon Hooper’s controversial decision.

To say Haaland was upset at the end of the game would be an understatementGetty

And things got heated after the whistle was blown when Haaland needed to be separated as he unleashed a verbal tirade against Lo Celso, who scored Spurs’ second of the game.

The Norwegian was making his way off the pitch when he suddenly turned around, seemingly in response to something that was said to him.

It’s not clear what Haaland said but his fury was clear to see and the cameras then panned out to a melee which the 23-year-old was on the edge of.

He then exchanged angry words with Lo Celso, before being separated and taken away from the scene.

The incident came after the two sides played out an enthralling draw on Sunday afternoon.

Heung-min Son gave Ange Postecoglou’s men a surprise lead on six minutes but City equalised when the Spurs captain inadvertently turned the ball into his own net.

Phil Foden then put Pep Guardiola’s side in front but they were pegged back by Lo Celso’s left-footed effort.

Jack Grealish appeared to have won it for City on 80 minutes but a header by Dejan Kulusevski in the 90th minute saw the spoils get shared.

The drama didn’t end there when Hooper inexplicably pulled back a foul on Haaland in City’s half despite the fact Grealish was through on goal with the advantage initially being played.

And this may have contributed to Haaland’s frustrations boiling over after full time.

They certainly showed no sign of calming down several minutes after the match.

Commenting on a video of Hooper’s decision, Haaland said on X: “Wtf.”
