“Highly talented” goalkeeper
Major League Soccer side Chicago Fire have signed goalkeeper Chris Brady to a new long-term contract. The 18-year-old is now under contract until 2026 with a club option for the 2027 season.
“Chris is a highly talented young goalkeeper, and this new contract is a testament to our belief in him and his abilities as a player,” Chicago Fire FC sporting director Georg Heitz said in a club statement. “We’ve seen tremendous growth from Chris over the last two years, during his time on loan with Forward Madison and more recently with our CFFC II team, and we believe that he has a very bright future with the Fire.”
Originally signed on March 24, 2020, to a homegrown contract, Brady spent the 2020 season on loan at USL League One side Forward Madison where he managed eight starts and won the young player of the year award. With a market value of $110,000, Brady is one of the 25 most valuable goalkeepers born in 2004 (overview).
