Major Market Value Drops for Messi, Neymar, and 15 Other PSG Players in Ligue 1

By

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has experienced a significant drop in market value in the latest Transfermarkt Ligue 1 update. Lionel Messi‘s value has dropped by €10 million, while Kylian Mbappé’s remains the same. The biggest winner in market value is Loïs Openda, an RB Leipzig transfer target, who has seen his value increase by €15 million. RC Lens, Openda’s club, has also seen the largest increase in market value among the French top-flight clubs.

Openda, who scored 21 goals and set a new club record at Lens, has become worth three times his initial value since arriving from Club Brugge at the start of the season. Another winner in the update is Arsenal forward Folarin Balogun, whose value has risen from €4 million to €30 million after a loan spell at Stade Reims. Balogun’s breakthrough performance and increased market value make him a much-wanted transfer target.

Among the eight English players in Ligue 1, Angel Gomes is the only winner, with his market value rising by €3 million to €16 million. Gomes has gained the trust of Lille’s new head coach and has been key to the team’s playing style.

One of the upgrades in market value goes to Lyon’s Bradley Barcola, whose value has risen from €2 million to €18 million. Barcola has impressed with seven goals and ten assists since the start of the year.

PSG, on the other hand, has experienced downgrades in market value. Messi‘s value dropped by €10 million, and rumors suggest that he may leave the club. Mbappé, the World‘s most valuable player alongside Erling Haaland, has also seen no change in his market value. Mbappé’s contract expires in 2024, and there is speculation that he may be sold this summer.

Overall, PSG’s disappointing season has resulted in a drop in market value for the team. However, individual players like Openda, Balogun, and Gomes have seen significant increases in their value, making them attractive transfer targets.
