Carney Chukwuemeka headed to Chelsea – Aston Villa agree deal in principle

Chelsea and Aston Villa have reached a deal in principle for the transfer of talented midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka. Both clubs announced the agreement on their respective Twitter feeds on Tuesday afternoon. Aston Villa will now allow Chukwuemeka to travel to London were the player will complete his medical and discuss personal terms with Chelsea.

According to Italian football expert Fabrizio Romano, Aston Villa will receive £15 million plus add-ons for the 18-year-old central midfielder. Chukwuemeka is also expected to sign a six-year contract once he has completed his medical at Chelsea. The player is expected to be officially presented by Chelsea later this week.  Once completed, Chukwuemeka will become the second most expensive academy product in club history after Jack Grealish.
