Report out of Brazil
With 30 games played in Major League Soccer, Inter Miami CF look very much out of the Eastern Conference playoff race. The David Beckham-owned club are six points below the playoff line and it appears that plans have now started in earnest to restructure the club for the 2022 season. Fittingly reports out of Brazil have suggested that Inter Miami want to sign Palmeiras attacking midfielder Raphael Veiga.
The 26-year-old São Paulo native has been in good form for his club this season and scored 13 goals and three assists in 44 games across all competitions. Enough to draw the attention of Inter Miami scouts. According to Brazilian outlet UOL, Inter Miami are now preparing a $12 million offer to sign the 26-year-old playmaker. Negotiations are supposed to start in earnest in November.
That fee would be a significant outlay for a player, whose current market value is $4.95 million and is under contract until 2024. The proposed fee would equal the record set by Rodolfo Pizarro, who the Florida-based club signed ahead of the club’s 2020 inaugural season.
