Everton surely expected a challenging match against Manchester United on Monday.
But they surely didn’t expect to be put in a situation where they had to play a man down for the majority of the contest because of an intra-team fight.
But that is exactly what happened during the first half of Monday’s Premier League game when midfielder Idrissa Gueye was shown a straight red card for a fight with his own teammate Michael Keane.
Gueye appeared to grow frustrated with the defender for not going for a pass and confronted him before being held back by teammates.
It was a bizarre scene that forced Everton into a difficult position. However, the team quickly bounced back and took a 1-0 lead in the first half thanks to Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s goal.
