Transfer now official
Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt have signed Philadelphia Union talent Paxten Aaronson. First reported by Transfermarkt the deal was confirmed by the Eagles on Nov. 17, 2022. According to MLSSoccer.com writer Tom Bogert the Bundesliga side has paid around €4m plus future incentives. The transfer makes the 19-year-old the third most expensive outgoing transfer in Union history.

The MLS Cup final against LAFC was, therefore, the last game for the 19-year-old attacking midfielder. Rumors that Paxten could follow his brother Brenden Aaronson to Europe have circulated for some time, and Frankfurt have now won the race. “In Paxten Aaronson, we were able to sign an in-demand and talented player, who will give our attack more flexibility,” Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krösche said. “We have a clear development plan laid out for him. Paxten will be given the necessary time to get used to his new surroundings and develop in the best possible way.”
“Paxten has accomplished so much in a short amount of time. He has worked incredibly hard, and he has taken advantage of every opportunity with the first team, Union II, and the U-20 National Team,” Philadelphia Union sporting director Ernst Tanner said in a club statement released by the Union. “There has been interest in him for a long time, and we feel this is the right move for the club and the player, putting him in a good situation to continue developing in one the best leagues in the World. It is another great example of our development philosophy, and we are very proud of Paxten and wish him all the best at Frankfurt.”

Paxten Aaronson to Frankfurt? – Plays a similar role to Daichi Kamada
In Daichi Kamada, Frankfurt, who have recently advanced to the round of 16 of the Champions League, might lose a key attacking midfielder at the end of the season. Kamada’s contract expires at the end of the season, and the Japanese midfielder has thus far turned down offers to renew his contract.
