A lot of focus has gone into building a young and talented group of players at Chelsea, so it’s great to see they’re starting to reap the benefits of that on the pitch.

The Chelsea squad is thriving this season under Enzo Maresca’s management. As a result, the Blues will temporarily go top of the Premier League table on Sunday afternoon if they win away at Everton.

Chelsea’s owners believe their squad is good enough to return to the top, which is something that supporters are slowly starting to agree with as well.

Chelsea defender Colwill is liked by Europe’s biggest clubs, but the Blues are under no kind of pressure to sell because his contract doesn’t expire until 2029.

The left-footed centre-back has taken his game to new heights under Maresca, starting 15 out of 16 Premier League matches so far this season.

As for Lavia, the defensive midfielder is bouncing back from a debut season with Chelsea last year that was wrecked by injury. He’s still had some injury problems along the way this campaign, but he’s been outstanding in his 10 appearances across all competitions this term.

Incidentally, Chelsea’s Lavia is expected to be fit again to face Everton on Sunday.

Chelsea adding even more young stars in 2025

Estevao Willian doesn’t rank on Transfermarkt’s Premier League list yet as he’s still with Palmeiras, but the teenage sensation officially joins up with Chelsea next year.

Estevao, who’s just 17, will join up with the Blues next summer. His success in Brazilian football with Palmeiras means he’s already renowned as one of the world’s most exciting emerging teenagers.

Chelsea think they’ve hit the jackpot with Estevao’s signature, so his addition to the squad can’t come soon enough.
