Alejandro Garnacho’s incredible overhead kick put Manchester United in front against Everton in truly spectacular style.
The atmosphere at Goodison Park was lively from kick-off as Toffees fans protested their ten-point deduction by the Premier League, but was reduced to silence just three minutes after the game began.
Diogo Dalot’s cross was sent towards Garnacho, who jumped in the air and connected with a stunning overhead kick.
Jordan Pickford had little chance of saving it in the Everton goal and the United youngster wheeled away in celebration.
He paid tribute to club legend Cristiano Ronaldo by performing his iconic ‘Siu’ celebration in front of a stunned Everton crowd.
Garnacho’s marvellous strike earned comparisons to one of Ronaldo’s greatest ever goals, his overhead kick for Real Madrid against Juventus in April 2018.
And some fans couldn’t help but make the comparison between the two iconic strikes.
One fan said: “Alejandro Garnacho just scored a beauty. Cristaino Ronaldo and Rooney would be proud.”
Another said: “You are meant for greatness if you idolize Ronaldo. What an impressive Goal by Garnacho.”
While this fan said: “Garnacho could actually be Ronaldo’s son. WHAT. A. GOAL.”
Marcus Rashford doubled United’s lead from the penalty spot after Ashley Young was adjudged to have fouled Anthony Martial.
The visitors then added a third to seal the win when Anthony Martial scored his ninth goal against Everton in 16 appearances.
