Serhou Guirassy has made history by scoring ten goals in the first five Bundesliga games of the season. This matches a record set by Robert Lewandowski last season. Guirassy is currently the most prolific forward in Europe’s top five leagues, ahead of Erling Haaland. As a result, he has been linked with transfers to Juventus and AC Milan. Although he is under contract until 2026, he has an exit clause allowing him to leave for €20m. Guirassy’s impressive start to the season has led to regrets from clubs who did not activate his exit clause. Stuttgart’s head coach, Sebastian Hoeneß, is happy to have Guirassy in his squad and believes he could attract interest from bigger clubs if he continues to score 20 goals or more in a season. Guirassy is currently only one goal away from his personal record of scoring 11 goals in a single season. However, there are doubts about whether his goalscoring rate will be sustainable, as his expected goals (xG) this season is significantly lower than the goals he has actually scored. Despite this, Guirassy ranks third in xG in the league, behind Victor Boniface and Harry Kane. It is possible that Guirassy could finish the season as one of the top three scorers in the Bundesliga. His current market value is €14m, so a potential transfer fee of €20m would be considered a steal.
