Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly set to sell striker Harry Kane this summer, with Bayern Munich being his likely destination. Kane has been pursued by the Bundesliga giants for a year and is enticed by the prospect of silverware and a shot at the Champions League. With 213 goals and 50 assists in the Premier League, Kane’s departure leaves a significant void in Tottenham’s attack. Last season, he scored 43% of the team’s goals, and over the last 10 seasons, he has contributed to 31% of their league goals on average.
Tottenham will likely look to replace Kane with their current forwards, Heung-Min Son and Richarlison. Son has proven to be a fantastic goalscorer in the Premier League, with 58 goals in 103 games. While his average falls short of Kane‘s, he will be a vital part of the post-Kane rebuild at Tottenham. Similarly, Richarlison has averaged 0.34 goals per 90 minutes at Everton, despite the club’s struggles. Given more game time at Tottenham, his numbers are expected to increase.
Tottenham has also been linked with several potential signings to replace Kane, including Pedro from Flamengo, Randal Kolo Muani from Eintracht Frankfurt, and Dusan Vlahovic from Juventus. However, rumors of a move for Kylian Mbappé from PSG seem unrealistic. It is unlikely that any new signing will be able to immediately match Kane‘s goal-scoring volume. The club will need a combination of goals from a new signing and improved performances from existing players to fill the void left by Kane.
