“From NYCFC to Lazio: Taty Castellanos joins the Biancocelesti with an Impressive Goalscoring Record”

By

Taty Castellanos has completed his move to Lazio, becoming the fifth most expensive outgoing transfer in MLS history. New York City FC will receive €15 million for the 24-year-old striker, who spent the 2022/23 season on loan at Girona. Castellanos’ market value has increased to €15m, reflecting his impressive performances in Major League Soccer. He scored 59 goals and provided 24 assists across all competitions for NYCFC, helping the club win the 2021 MLS Cup. In LaLiga, Castellanos scored 13 goals in 31 appearances, including a four-goal performance against Real Madrid in April.

Castellanos’ ability to consistently produce shots on goal is a key part of his success. Since 2021, he has produced 94 shots, with only Hany Mukhtar of Nashville SC having more shots on goal in MLS. These shots have resulted in a high number of goals, with Castellanos scoring 41 regular season goals for NYCFC from 2019 to 2021. Despite leaving the club halfway through the 2021 season, he was just six goals behind Mukhtar during that period. In LaLiga, Castellanos ranked sixth in shots on goal with 68 and finished the season with nine goals.

Now, Castellanos is ready to continue his progress as a top scorer in Italy. With his impressive track record in MLS and LaLiga, there is a good chance that he will make a big impact in Serie A. Lazio will be hoping that he can continue his goalscoring form and help the team achieve success in the upcoming season.

This transfer is part of a busy summer in the transfer market, with several big-name players making moves to new clubs. Some notable transfers include Christian Pulisic joining AC Milan, Karim Benzema moving to Al-Ittihad Club, Youri Tielemans joining Aston Villa, and Marco Asensio moving to PSG. These transfers highlight the continued movement of top players across various leagues and the impact they can have on their new teams.
