Left-back
Tottenham Hotspur have signed Destiny Udogie from Udinese Calcio. The 19-year-old left-back has signed a contract until 2027 but will remain on loan for the rest of the season at the Serie A club. According to Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham have paid €18 million, plus performance-based add-ons. There have been rumors that the fee could be as high as €26 million.
“It is a dream come true to move to a top team like Tottenham,” Udogie said. “It was an easy decision because, in Antonio Conte, they have a top manager.” The teenager scored five goals in 35 games for Udinese, which made him the most successful left-back in Serie A. Throughout the season, Udogie managed to increase his market value to €17 million—the highest market value of any Udinese player.

The only left-back more expensive in Tottenham’s history is Sergio Reguilón. The 25-year-old joined the club for €30 million in the summer of 2020 from Real Madrid. Udogie joined Udinese last season initially on loan from Hellas Verona; his deal was then made permanent for just €4 million this summer.
We are delighted to announce the permanent signing of Destiny Udogie from Udinese.
The defender has agreed a deal that will run until 2027 and will return to the Serie A side on loan for the remainder of the 2022/23 season.
