After loan to RC Lens
French U21 national team forward Arnaud Kalimuendo will not remain at Paris Saint-Germain after his loan at RC Lens expired earlier this summer. Instead, he will join Stade Rennais. The Ligue 1 club confirmed the deal on Thursday. The striker will sign a contract until 2027. L’Équipe reported that the entire package would be worth €25 million, which makes him the most expensive player to come out of the PSG academy. Mamadou Sakho held the previous record; he joined Liverpool for €19 million in 2013.
Kalimuendo, who played at every junior level at PSG, spent the last two seasons on loan at RC Lens, where he increased his market value to €18 million. The striker scored 13 goals in 38 games across all competitions last season. The forward returned to PSG this summer and was brought off the bench in the French Super Cup against Nantes before spending 90 minutes on the bench on matchday 1 of Ligue 1 against Clermont Foot 63. Overall, Kalimuendo has managed just five appearances for PSG.
