After days of entertaining football action, four teams have made it to the semi-final of the UEFA EURO 2020. The 16th edition of the European Championship began on June 11 with matches in 11 cities across Europe — for the first time in the 63-year history of the tournament.

Spain became the first team to book their place in the semi-finals and they were joined by Italy later that day. La Roja advanced to the final four after they defeated Switzerland in a penalty shootout in Saint Petersburg, following a 1-1 draw. Luis Enrique’s side took the lead before a mix-up between Aymeric Laporte and Pau Torres gave the Swiss the chance to equalise.

As for Itay, the Azzurri beat Belgium – the ranked No.1 team in the world – 2-1 in Munich after goals from Nicolo Barella and Lorenzo Insigne.

On Saturday, Denmark booked their place in the semi-finals with a 2-1 win over the Czech Republic and England comfortably beat Ukraine 4-0 in Rome to set up a match-up with the former team.

Goals from Thomas Delaney and Kasper Dolberg were enough to see the Danes into the last four. Harry Kane got England off the mark, but the second-half goals from Maguire, Kane again and Jordan Henderson sealed the deal for Three Lions.
