Fantasy Premier League (FPL) players have been eagerly anticipating Double Gameweek 29, with Manchester United, Brighton and Hove Albion, and Chelsea among the 12 teams playing twice. The deadline is set for Saturday at 11:00 BST, and as always, managers are limited to £83.0m for their first XI. After a reader vote ahead of the 2022/23 season, an overall price cap of £100.0m is also in place for the 15-Man squad.
In goal for the Scout Picks is Brighton keeper Jason Steele (£3.9m), who has 17 points in three matches since taking over from Robert Sanchez (£4.6m), with clean sheets against Crystal Palace and West Ham United. In Double Gameweek 29, the Seagulls are first at home to Brentford before they visit relegation-threatened Bournemouth, who have the lowest xG in the division.
Kieran Trippier (£6.1m) earns yet another selection to the Scout Picks line-up, with tickets in high demand for the Newcastle United defender. He is the highest-scoring player in his position, with a goal and six assists, 14 clean sheets, and 31 bonus points. The Magpies have failed to keep a clean sheet since January, but the data suggests they have been unlucky of late, with only five shots in the box conceded in their two most recent outings.
Ben Chilwell (£6.0m), the flying wing-back, is our pick of the Chelsea defenders, having scored 19 points across his last three matches since his return from injury. No FPL defender has matched his successful crosses or created opportunities during that period. The Blues will play back-to-back home games against Aston Villa and Liverpool, which is far from easy, but in all competitions under Graham Potter, they have only conceded seven goals in 13 games at Stamford Bridge.
Luke Shaw (£5.2m) completes our defensive picks as the top-scoring player in his position since the World Cup. After missing England’s 2-0 win over Ukraine on Sunday through suspension, he should be well rested. Although Man Utd will have to cope without Casemiro (£4.9m) against Newcastle and Brentford, Shaw thrived in his last absence, averaging 6.3 points per match across his three outings.

Finally, FPL managers must follow the Scout’s weekly transfer plans in advance of the weeks and months ahead. Premier Fantasy Tools Pro Planner allows for easy access to our team, which includes contributions from regulars like TopMarx, Geoff, and Tom Freeman, among others.
