Man City and Spurs stars score in UEFA Euro 2020 round of 16 victory over Germany at Wembley Stadium
Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling and Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane scored as England beat Germany 2-0 to reach the quarter-finals of UEFA Euro 2020.
Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford saved from Chelsea duo Timo Werner and Kai Havertz either side of half-time while Kane was denied by a last-ditch tackle from Mats Hummels.
Sterling slotted in from a cross by Manchester United‘s Luke Shaw to break the deadlock in the 75th minute with his third goal of the tournament in front of over 40,000 fans at Wembley Stadium.
England doubled their advantage with four minutes remaining after Kane headed in from a centre by Aston Villa‘s Jack Grealish.
Gareth Southgate’s side will now face the winner of tonight’s round of 16 tie between Sweden and Ukraine in Rome on Saturday.
