Ole Gunnar Solskjaer advised to give Cristiano Ronaldo what he demands at Manchester United

Manchester United have been told that Cristiano Ronaldo did not return to Old Trafford for “a holiday” and that he demands to win the biggest trophies during his second coming.

After an encouraging start to the season, United have been defeated in three different competitions over the last two weeks – culminating in Carabao Cup elimination.

Of course, there is time for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his squad to mount a challenge for the Premier League and simultaneous success in Europe.

However, with returning five-time Ballon d’Or winner Ronaldo back in the UK, expectations for Solskjaer to deliver trophies have been ramped up, too.

That’s according to talkSPORT pundit and former Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor.

On a day where neighbours Manchester City sent a clear message to their title rivals, United were humbled at Old Trafford, by the Villans, as Bruno Fernandes skied an injury-time penalty to equalise.

Agbonlahor said: “Ronaldo is not there for three, four or five seasons. He’s not there on holiday. He’s there to win trophies. He wants to win the Champions League with Manchester United. They want to win the league.

“If it comes to the end of the season and they finish second or third – and don’t win a trophy – that’s like a season gone with Ronaldo there, isn’t it?”

After three years in Serie A with Juventus, the Portugal captain Ronaldo sealed his sensational return to United on deadline day – and he has already capped that move off with four goals in as many games.

During his first spell at Old Trafford, the 36-year-old netted 118 times and laid on 69 assists in 292 outings.

Ronaldo departed for Spanish giants Real Madrid in 2009 and took his dazzling career to greater heights – claiming four Champions Leagues to add to his victory in the same competition with United in 2008.
