Nottingham Forest will hope patience pays off in the transfer market as the Reds are yet to make their first signing of the summer.
In what is a crucial window for boss Chris Hughton, there is an emphasis on ensuring the right deals get done.
A promotion push is the aim once the new campaign begins next month, and this is Hughton’s first real chance to put his mark on the squad.
With the first pre-season friendly having taken place at the weekend, the new term has been brought into even sharper focus.
And there has been plenty of talk about who might be coming to and who might be leaving the club before the window closes.
Here’s a look at the latest Forest transfer news.

‘Talks begin’
Nottingham Forest are said to have opened talks to sign Fatih Karagümrük winger Alassane Ndao.
The Reds are yet to make their first signing of what is still expected to be a busy summer transfer window as boss Chris Hughton overhauls his squad.
Bolstering his attacking resources is a priority for the manager, including strengthening his wide options.
And reports in Turkey claim Forest are targeting a move for 24-year-old Ndao as they build up to the new Championship campaign.
Loan deal?
Nottingham Forest are said to have approached Watford over signing attacking midfielder Philip Zinckernagel on loan.
The Reds got their pre-season up and running at the weekend when a mix of first-team and youth players featured against Alfreton Town.
But they are yet to make their first signing of the summer, ahead of what boss Chris Hughton hopes will be a promotion push.
To challenge for a top-six spot, reinforcements are needed – particularly when it comes to solving Forest’s goalscoring woes of last term.
Get Garner!
A promotion push is very much in the thinking of those at Forest and improving their recruitment strategy will be key in any success the club have next season.
Zian Flemming is a target for manager Chris Hughton as he looks to bolster his creative options, but the Reds are also eyeing loan deals from Premier League clubs Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.
United midfielder James Garner had two Championship loan spells last season as he spent the first half of the campaign with Watford before he joined up with Hughton’s side in January.
He made 21 appearances for the Hornets and he registered one assist in his four months with the London club.
Defender linked
Nottingham Forest are reportedly showing an interest in Iran international defender Milad Mohammadi.
The Press Association claims the Reds are keen on sealing a deal for the Gent left-back who is available for a cut-price fee with the defender’s contract set to expire next summer.
Gent are prepared to accept a lower figure to stop him from leaving on a free this time next year and that has interested Forest who face competition from Ligue 1 side Brest.
AEK Athens and Ferencvaros have submitted bids of €500,000 (£428,000) and €450,000 (£385,000) respectively which were accepted only for the defender to reject both moves.

Johnson interest
Barnsley are reportedly “willing” to pay up to £2m to land Nottingham Forest Brennan Johnson amid further speculation over the midfielder’s future.
The Tykes are said to be keen on taking the Welsh international to Oakwell having been impressed by his performances for Lincoln City during a season-long loan last term.
Leeds, Leicester and Brentford are also said to be monitoring Johnson’s situation as interest in the highly-rated youngster continues to heat up.
Forest fans are hoping that Johnson will be part of their first-team set-up next season, but the Athletic claims that they would not be interested in the money Barnsley are offering in the “short term”.
Transfer fee
Nottingham Forest remain keen on signing Dutch attacking midfielder Zian Flemming but will have to pay around £1.5m to secure his signature.
The former Ajax youth player scored an impressive 12 times and registered seven assists for Fortuna Sittard in the league last term and added another three goals in the cup to make it 15 for the campaign.
And that form has alerted the Reds who are eager to bolster their creative options ahead of the new Championship campaign.
However, it has been claimed that Serie A side Napoli also retain an interest in the 22-year-old as interest in the midfielder continues to intensify.

Striker speculation
Nottingham Forest have been credited with an interest in Norwich City striker Jordan Hugill, according to reports.
The striker gained promotion to the Premier League with Norwich City last season but played second-fiddle to main striker Teemu Pukki.
The 29-year-old scored four goals in 31 league appearances for the Canaries during the 2020/21 campaign.
Now, Football Insider claim that Forest are keen to sign the 29-year-old this summer – with manager Chris Hughton looking to add a goal scorer to his ranks at the City Ground.
