San Jose Earthquakes have announced the signing of Nathan. The 26-year-old joins San Jose from Swiss first division side FC Zürich, signing a contract until the end of 2023 with an option for a further year.
“Reinforcing our defense was a priority and we are excited to add Nathan to our roster as we approach a dense schedule with more than two-thirds of the regular season still to play,” said Earthquakes general manager Jesse Fioranelli. “We believe Nathan’s age and skillset complements the qualities we have in our backline.”

Nathan hails from the youth system of Palmeiras. After several loan spells within Brazil, two loan spells to Switzerland followed in 2017 and 2018 respectively. First, the Brazilian played for Servette FC, then for Grasshoppers. In July 2019, Nathan moved permanently to FC Zurich. He played 63 games for FCZ (3 goals / one assist).
