Liverpool had a poor day in London this weekend. The Reds took on a brave, newly promoted side and the two sides played out a thrilling encounter. After the Liverpool draw with Brentford it’s time for Andy Robertson to be dropped for Kostas Tsimikas for a while.
Brentford 3-3 Liverpool
This was always going to be a tough game.
Newly promoted sides, particularly clubs who haven’t dallied in the top flight for a while, love it when a big boy comes to town.
The Bees got their game plan spot on and they frustrated Liverpool as a result.
It was the hosts who opened the scoring when Ethan Pinnock snuck in at the far post to convert a smart free kick routine.
Thankfully, just four minutes later Diogo Jota scored another header.
Then it was Mo Salah’s turn as the Egyptian King notched his 100th league goal for the Reds.
Every Premier League Team’s Best Player Now Vs. 7 Years Ago
Not even 10 minutes went by before the Bees grabbed a scrappy equaliser.
It looked as though Curtis Jones had won it with a 67th minute rocket but then our hearts were broken again at the back post with less than 10 minutes remaining.
Drop Andy Robertson for Kostas Tsimikas
It was another poor performance by the Scotland captain.
For some reason the left back just hasn’t got going really this season.
He attempted seven crosses and only two connected, he didn’t create a single chance.
By contrast, we’ve been impressed every time we’ve seen his Greek backup.
It’s time to drop Andy Robertson for Kostas Tsimikas.
We aren’t saying permanently, sometimes players just benefit from a spell out so that they can work on their game without distraction.
The time on the sidelines could get the Scotsman back to his best as he has to earn his place in the side again.
Thus far this season we haven’t seen his best but we have seen Tsimi’s.
