American winger Konrad de la Fuente has officially joined Olympique Marseille. The Ligue 1 club announced the transfer on Tuesday. According to various media reports, Barcelona will receive €3 million, plus future add-ons. The fee is slightly below his market value of €4 million.

“We watched him all year round,” Pablo Longoria said late last week when asked about de La Fuente (cited via USMNT Only). “It all came about thanks to a good personal relationship, coordination with Barcelona, and the power of attraction of OM.”

De la Fuente has been on the verge of Barcelona’s first team for some time but has mostly played for the B team in 2020/21. Last season the 19-year-old managed six goals and five assists across 25 games in all competitions. De la Fuente has also seen his market value updated, and he is now among the 25 most valuable US men’s eligible players on the planet.
