They call it the “Group of Death” for a reason, as Group F goes into its final matchday with a plethora of possible, outcomes, headlined by a high-profile match between Portugal and France.

As it stands heading into Wednesday, France leads the group with four points, with Germany and Portugal and Germany tied for second with three. Hungary sits at the bottom of the group with a single point, but has a chance to jump in the mix if they are able to knock off Germany on Wednesday.

France is undefeated thus far in the Euros with an opening match win over Germany, but stumbled in a draw against Hungary last Saturday. Despite brutally outplaying the Hungarians from start to finish, a goal from Hungary’s Attila Fiola in stoppage time of the first half put the French squad behind. France was able to break through in the second half, as Antoine Griezmann scored in the 66th-minute, helping France avoid a disastrous defeat.

Portugal is licking their wounds after meeting with Germany over the weekend. After a convincing 3-0 win over Hungary in their first match, Portugal was looking good in Munich after Cristiano Ronaldo scored his third goal of the Euros early in the contest. However, Germany stormed back with a pair of goals before the end of the half, and two more early in the second. A late goal from Portugal’s Diogo Jota was too little, too late, as Germany came away with the 4-2 win.

The meeting between the French and the Portuguese is a rematch of the 2016 Euro Final, where Portugal beat France on French soil, in extra time, to claim their first major tournament.
