Frank Lampard has confirmed his desire to return to football management after ending his brief stint as interim Chelsea manager. The former midfielder was unable to turn around the club’s fortunes during his 11-game stint, which ended with a 1-1 draw against Newcastle United on the final day of the season. Lampard won just one game in charge, but insisted that his spell at the helm has not affected his desire to continue as a coach. The 44-year-old said: “It’s not affected my drive to do this job or anything like that. I enjoy the job. I understand it can look fruitless from the outside if you’re not getting the results.” Chelsea, who finished the season in 12th place with 44 points, have agreed a deal to bring in former Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino as their new head coach.
