The Clarets have lined up three away games against EFL opposition as part of their pre-season schedule.
Sean Dyche’s men will start out at League Two side Oldham Athletic before facing Championship opposition in the shape of newly-promoted Blackpool and Nottingham Forest.
The Clarets – who return for the start of pre-season training next Thursday – will play simultaneous training-ground games against sides from Leagues One and Two before their first public work-outs.
And the club will also confirm two further pre-season fixtures ahead of their Premier League opener against Brighton at Turf Moor on Saturday, 14 August in due course.
Both domestic and foreign opposition is under consideration, depending on the government protocols at the time.
Ticketing and coverage details around the scheduled away fixtures will also be confirmed at a later date in line with government guidance.
The trip to Oldham, who finished 18th in League Two last season under former England international Keith Curle, will mean a return to his first club for Clarets’ defender James Tarkowski.
After taking on the Latics, Burnley then go to Bloomfield Road for a mid-week fixture against a Blackpool side which won promotion via the League One play-offs in manager Neil Critchley’s first full season in charge.
Dyche and his backroom staff then return to former club Forest to face the double European champions at the City Ground on Saturday, 31 July.
Pre-season fixtures to date:
Saturday 24 July: Oldham Athletic (A) KO 1pm
Tuesday 27 July: Blackpool (A) KO 7.45pm
Saturday 31 July: Nottingham Forest (A) KO 3pm
