Who is John Textor?

Textor is probably best known for his role as co-chairman at Digital Domain, a visual effects company based in Los Angeles.

They famously created the effects for 1997 Oscar-winner Titanic.

But Textor was involved as the company collapsed. They filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in 2012 due to a difficult financial situation.

Digital Domain eventually recovered before Textor rebuilt his own reputation.

He is the leading shareholder of FuboTV, a US-based streaming service focused on sport. It was floated on the New York Stock Exchange in October 2020, raising $183 million in the process.

Does he have any connection to Palace?

There is a small connection. Jacob Montes, a midfielder, joined Palace in May this year on a one-year deal.

Montes came through an academy that Textor set up in Florida, called Florida FC Prepatory Academy, before spells at Portland Timbers and Georgetown Hoyas.
