Leicester COVID

Premier League clubs are continuing to support NHS efforts to get the British public vaccinated against COVID-19, encouraging people to get the jab as well as offering their stadiums to host vaccinations.

There will be walk-in clinics at Leicester City’s King Power Stadium on 12 and 13 July.

Andy Williams, chief executive officer at the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland clinical commissioning groups, told Leicester’s official website: “We’re so close to finally getting back to doing all the things that are important to us with the people that we’ve missed the most during lockdown. That’s why it’s critical that we do everything we can to keep Covid at bay.”

Get on board

Meanwhile, Wolverhampton Wanderers are calling on their fans to go to Molineux stadium this week where a vaccination bus will be located for anyone aged 18 or over to get a first or second dose without booking ahead.

Anyone aged 18 or over can get their first or second doses at Molineux between now and Sunday evening, without needing to book an appointment.

Wolves’ head of medical services, Dr Matt Perry, told the club’s official website: “Ahead of the start of the new season, we want as many people as possible to have their Covid-19 vaccinations, so we can get back to enjoying football at Molineux safely.”

Protecting others

At Norwich City, Ben Gibson has urged people to get their jab.

“If you’re over the age of 18, please, please go out and get your vaccination done,” said the defender who has received the jab himself.

“There are so many different opportunities and different ways you can get it booked in and get vaccinated now, protecting not only yourself but your friends, your family and anyone else that you come into contact with.”
