That’s it for today

We’re going to call time on today’s Chelsea blog here, folks.

Thank you for joining us today. We shall be back to do it all over again tomorrow. Take care.

Italy win the Euros

It went all the way to penalties in the Euro 2020 final.

Jorginho saw his effort saved but Gianluigi Donnarumma’s stop from Bukayo Saka means it is Italy who are European Champions.

As a result, Jorginho and Emerson are double European Champions after winning the Champions League with Chelsea at the end of last season.

Extra-time

The Euro 2020 final has gone into extra-time.

Luke Shaw opened the scoring inside the first five minutes, but Italy pressure paid off in the second half as Leonardo Bonucci converted from close range to get his side back on level terms.

30 more minutes, plus penalties (potentially).

1-1 at Wembley

Italy have been the better team in the second half and their reward is an equaliser thanks to Leonardo Bonucci.

Still just over 10 minutes of normal time to play at Wembley.

Chelsea teammates in action

Club loyalties are on hold for 90 minutes as England face Italy in the Euro 2020 final.

Mason Mount and Jorginho were in the Blues side that lifted the Champions League at the end of May, tonight they are in battle against each other.

It’s currently going the way of the Chelsea no.19.

Gilmour prediction

Wayne Bridge has backed Chelsea youngster Billy Gilmour to thrive on loan with newly-promoted Norwich next season.

I was surprised to see him go on a season-long loan to Norwich. But, I also understand the reason behind it.

I think he has a huge future at Chelsea – still young but he has so much quality and plays with maturity.

Going out on loan can definitely help. A prime example being Harry Kane going to Leicester and then coming back and smashing it. The people that I know of who’ve been on loan, it’s always helped them mature and learn from the experience.

Post-Euro 2020 plans

It’s a huge day in English football as England and Italy go head-to-head at Wembley Stadium in the Euro 2020 final.

Speaking last month, Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden did reveal that his England teammates had all agreed to follow in his footsteps and dye their hair blonde if they go all the way in the competition and lift the famous trophy.

I told the team that if we win it they have to get the same haircut as me and they all agreed.

Hopefully if we win it you will see everyone with the same haircut. I think Romania did it so I would make everyone get the same haircut, which would be funny.

Declan Rice alternative

Marina Granovskaia could save Chelsea a lot of money this summer by looking at Boubacar Kamara as an alternative to Declan Rice.

West Ham have a reported £80m price tag on the England star, whereas Kamara – who ranks in the top 10 midfielders in Ligue 1 on a number of metrics – could be available for as little as £12.8m this summer.

Camavinga boost

Chelsea have been handed a boost in the race to sign Eduardo Camavinga.

The young star is apparently attracting much attention from the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United, as well as the Blues.

However, the Manchester Evening News report that the young midfielder is not United’s first choice option in midfield, leaving the door open for Chelsea to steal a march on the 18-year-old.

Chelsea dealt Haaland blow

Chelsea look to have been dealt a major blow in their prusuit of Erling Haaland after Borussia Dortmund’s director, Michael Zorc spoke out on the club’s plans.

Zorc said that the German club were including the Norweigan in their preparations ahead of next season, claiming ‘nothing has chnaged’ amid the Blues interest.

As a result, according to cfcnewspage, cited by journalist Simon Phillips, Tuchel has since held ‘positive talks’ with Lukaku.

Zorc said: “Nothing has changed. We plan with Erling for the new season.”
