Effective as of Jul.7
Major League Soccer side Atlanta United have acquired Amar Sejdic from league competitor CF Montréal. The trade will be effective as of Jul. 7 when the Secondary Transfer window opens, and Montréal will receive $100,000 in GAM right away. The deal can grow to $150,000 GAM if certain performance-based incentives are met.
“He’s a smart, responsible midfielder who has recently started to come on for Montreal,” Atlanta United technical director Carlos Bocanegra said in a club statement. He’ll add competition to our group of midfielders as we prepare for an important stretch of the season.”
Drafted by Montréal in 2019 from the University of Maryland, Sejdic has managed 26 appearances (three goals) across all competitions. The defensive midfielder was part of the Montréal side that won the Canadian Championship in 2019.
