Diallo’s Man United stint
Amad Diallo completed a £37m move to Old Trafford from Serie A outfit Atalanta last summer, with the winger having eventually joined up with his new club in January.
Despite the hefty price-tag attached to the Ivorian, though, Diallo is yet to establish himself as a regular in United’s senior ranks.
But, to be fair to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and company, he had managed just five senior appearances for Atalanta before his transfer was completed.
As for his time in Manchester so far, the attacker has featured eight times for Man United’s senior side.
Most of those outings would come in the cup competitions. But he was handed two starts at the end of the Premier League campaign when United had nothing left to play for.
Diallo’s first and only goal at present for United’s senior team would come vs AC Milan in a Europa League last 16 tie.

Diallo on Paul Pogba
Now, in a recent interview, the United youngster has been discussing his footballing idol.
And it just so happens that Diallo’s idol is still currently plying his trade for Man United.
That man, according to Diallo, is France and United midfielder, Paul Pogba.
Diallo is said to have met Pogba when he was on trial with Juventus when he was a kid and took a photo with him:
“I met him when I was a kid at that trial at Juventus. After the session, they asked me who I would like to have a photo with and I asked for Paul [Pogba]. He was my idol.”
The winger also suggests that Pogba’s presence with the Red Devils helped persuade him to sign for the club:
“Then, when I received the bid from United and I realised that Paul was here, I didn’t have to think twice and I wanted to come here straight away.
“To be playing with him five years later is incredible.”
