Bruno Lage’s side do not offer an awful lot going forward, so it may be best to avoid their attacking options. However, they still have some good, well-priced defensive options.

Jose Sa, goalkeeper (5.0m)

The biggest strength of Wolves last summer was their excellent defensive record.

They conceded just 43 goals in 38 league matches, a record only bettered by last season’s top-four.

As a result, whilst Sa is 0.5m more expensive than the coveted budget keeper, he is still worth the price.

Rayan Ait-Nouri, defender (4.5m)

Ait-Nouri’s ability to create goals combined with Wolves’ excellent defence makes him a great budget option this season.

Granted, he does get rotated a fair bit, featuring just 23 times in the league during 2021/22. But as most people have two 4.5m defenders and rotate between them, someone like Ait-Nouri is a great shout to fill one of those spots.

Jonny, defender (4.5m)

Jonny is another great choice to be one of your 4.5m defensive picks this campaign.

And unlikely Nouri, it is expected that Jonny will be a more consistent starter in the forthcoming campaign.

He missed a lot of 2021/22 due to injury. But once he made his return in gameweek 20, he only missed one match in the rest of the campaign.
