Fabrizio Romano claims Liverpool & Arsenal target can be signed for £51m due to release clause

Fabrizio Romano has taken to Twitter to provide an update on Palmeiras wonderkid Endrick, as Liverpool and Arsenal aim to bring him to the Premier League.

What’s the story?

Well, the 15-year-old is a seriously bright talent, with many expecting him to follow in the footsteps of Neymar.

Due to relegations in Brazil, Endrick cannot be signed until he reaches the age of 18, although that hasn’t prevented some of Europe’s biggest clubs taking a look.

Liverpool and Arsenal are said to have scouted the teenager in the quarter-finals of the Copa Sao Paulo on January 19th 2022.

Manchester City are also believed to be interested in signing Endrick.

Now, the reliable Romano has provided fresh news.

The Italian journalist believes Endrick has signed a new contract until June 2025, which includes a €60m (£51m) release clause.

Romano adds that the Brazilian prodigy has already been approached by some of the biggest sides across Europe.

By the sounds of it, Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City will have to fend off serious competition if they are to win the race for Endrick.

Liverpool & Arsenal must get planning now

In our view, that £51m release clause will be a bargain by the time Endrick turns 18, and many clubs will be willing to pay it.

In fact, it feels similar to the £51.2m release clause Erling Haaland had at Borussia Dortmund, in the way that it was put in place mainly so the player could progress their career elsewhere, rather than block a move.

As a result, Liverpool and Arsenal need to get planning now, so they can portray themselves as the best destination for Endrick, and convince him to join.

In 169 games for the Palmeiras youth sides, Endrick remarkably scored 165 goals, which is a quite absurd record.

The Palmeiras gem also scored a freakishly good bicycle kick in the aforementioned Copa Sao Paulo quarter-final, which led Gary Lineker to describe him as a “very special talent”.

Keep an eye on this situation – we’re not expecting any developments soon given his age, although the Premier League’s elite are clearly interested.
