United have seen yet another season slip sway from them after failing to build on what looked to be a promising campaign last year.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked before Christmas after a series of poor results including a 5-0 home thrashing at the hands of rivals Liverpool and a 4-1 defeat to Watford.

Rangnick was brought in the improve United’s fortunes in the short term but he has failed to improve result and they look set for a Europa League spot for next season.

Much has been made of the current state of the United squad with many questioning the character and personalities of the players in the dressing room but Portuguese full-back Dalot believes Ten Hag will be looking forward to coaching the squad.

As per Manchester Evening News, Dalot said: “A new start, a new chapter, a new era.

“So I think everyone will be excited, I’m sure that the manager will be excited to work with us as well. So we need to build everyone as a team, as a group, as a club, and hopefully next season we can be solid and start the season well with a very good coach.”

On his own personal aims going forward, Dalot added: “I think the full-back position has been growing a lot in terms of the game plan and inside of the game. For me, it’s been a very good journey to have different coaches, different ideas, so I can adapt in every situation.

“I’m sure that with the new manager I’ll try to adapt quick and show him that I can help this team, this club, and I think that’s the mentality that everyone will have. At the end of the day we all want to play but the first thing is the team.”
