Arteta looks set to be busy in January

Arsenal close in on Arthur

Mirror Sport understands that Arsenal have made significant progress in their effort to sign Arthur on loan from Juventus.

The Gunners are currently short of midfield options due to a number of absentees and Arteta would love to strengthen his options with a player of the Brazil international’s class.

However, in the report it’s said the Gunners will only be able to sign Arthur if the Italian giants can bring in a replacement, with Chelsea’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek to said to be on their list of transfer targets.

Arthur has only made three starts in Serie A this season and has failed to kick on since joining the Bianconeri from Barcelona in 2020.
